What is Dowsing?
Using a pendulum, or dowsing rods, or a bobber can really help with doing your personal energy work. Our energy bodies carry loads of trauma and pain just from being born and living here on the planet.

We are currently going thru a high energy ribbon that is causing us and the earth to vibrate at a higher frequency. The frequencies cannot penetrate dense emotional pain and so get blocked and cause us trouble. Some of us feel we are getting really stressed out. We may feel we are losing our mind. We may feel crazy since we possibly have never looked inside ourselves at our own pain and our own BS. Those who have released emotional pain and blockage will be able to withstand the higher energies better. I will explain this more in another article.
This is why I am here…to help folks release emotional pain and dark energies. This way we can advance more smoothly into the new world. I realize things seem nuts given our current geopolitical situation, especially here in the States.
Regardless how you are hoping our future goes, we can feel better and more whole and more able to work and play in the world if we clear up some emotional stuff.
Enough about that. In this article I will explain how to use a pendulum. There are many resources out there for you to look at, including YTs, books and blogs, for more information. You can also go to the Resources page here on this site to connect with some great material as well.
Did you know we can play with, adjust and improve our energy?
What can dowsing do?
Using a pendulum, or dowsing (these are slightly different concepts), can help us in a few ways. One, we can use two “L” rods or a special type of branch, to find water under the ground. This is a very traditional use for dowsing. When you use two rods, they cross each other when they are over water. This really works, and finding water is no lie! In other words, you can’t fake that.
Second, you can use a pendulum, which is any weight hung by a string or chain, to get information.
The information range from yes or no answers to finding the number or percentage of something you are asking about. You can also use a pendulum to remove/neutralize energy or add energy to a situation or person or place. More about all this below. I also use a bobber, which is a nifty device of very flexible wire inserted into a short wooden rod. It ‘bobs’ up and down or back and forth and we use it like a pendulum. I prefer it over a pendulum since it is light and easy to use.
We will discuss neutralizing and improving energies in another article. This is an intro into yes and no and percentage questions.
How does it work?
We are not sure how this works. Some say your subconscious mind runs it.
Others say your higher self makes it move. Others say God, and/or your guides, guardians, ancestors, or angels. Whatever you believe works for me. I often describe a pendulum as a read-out device for your subconscious mind (or whatever), but it is SO much more. You can manage your energies and feel better with it!
Once you learn to use a pendulum, it moves via micro movements of your muscles from your subconscious mind. So, whether it is God, or your higher self, it communicates thru your subconscious mind and your body ultimately. But you are not consciously intentionally moving the pendulum.
What is the best pendulum to use?
The one you like and enjoy using is the best. Some like special crystals and like to activate them and keep them in nice bags. I am pragmatic and my favorite is a plastic ball with a cheap string inserted. It is by far the most accurate and fastest responding device I have ever used.
Some like one that ends in a point for better delineation of percentages, etc. I don’t find it matters much.
I am going to describe briefly how to use a pendulum. If you are really wanting more, please read Letter to Robin. It is a great guide and a great start. I am not sure ALL of it is necessary, however, and so I approach the whole thing more simply.
How to Use
Remember, like all things, this is a process which will take practice. There are oodles of resources available for you. Just get started and you may find dowsing to be easy, fun, and most importantly, beneficial for you, your loved ones and your community.
